Caring and Compassionate Staff Guides Patient Through the Addiction Recovery Process

What makes WhiteSands Treatment so unique is that it offers individualized care at each level of the addiction recovery process. The Fort Myers drug treatment facility sets patients up for success by providing the stepping stones necessary to build a solid foundation for recovery.

Beginning with medically assisted detox, guests will be safely and gradually weaned off of the substance of abuse in a controlled and monitored environment. This will ensure a safe detox, which helps reduce cravings and mitigate withdrawal symptoms. Once this is complete, they will begin inpatient treatment at the residential drug rehab facility.

“I have completed the residential which was 20+ stars,” says Bruce in his 5-star review. “Now I have completed the PHP phase of WhiteSands.”

The staff at WhiteSands play a vital role in the overall recovery process. Not only are they responsible for important processes such as administering detox medications, they are also responsible for:

  • Screening guests for SUD (substance use disorder) as well as any comorbidities such as dual diagnosis (often a driving force of addiction)
  • Monitoring patients during the detox period through to inpatient, outpatient, and aftercare, ensuring relapse prevention is in place
  • Identifying risk factors such as people, places, or things that may contribute to relapse
  • Supporting patients during aftercare and beyond, ensuring they have the support needed

Patients must feel safe and secure during their recovery journey. WhiteSands Treatment staff provide a supportive and nurturing environment that fosters recovery and is conducive to sober living in Fort Myers.

Building rapport and trust is at the forefront of WhiteSands’ approach, so staff work to create a working relationship with patients to ensure they feel comfortable throughout their treatment program.

“My therapist has shown the meaning of a true clinical therapist; she is very knowledgeable, caring, and passionate,” says Bruce.

After completing inpatient residential treatment, patients move on to either PHP (partial hospitalization program) or IOP (intensive outpatient treatment). The difference between these two levels of care is the intensity of therapy and the timeframe they encompass.

  • PHP: More intensive therapies and a longer time commitment.
    • Requires guests to attend therapy/treatment for several hours daily, five to seven days a week.
  • IOP: Less intensive and allows guests to maintain daily life such as employment or school.
    • Requires guests to attend therapy/treatment for two to three hours daily between three to five days per week.
