WhiteSands Adds Vocational Rehabilitation Services to Its Addiction Treatment Approach

The WhiteSands Treatment team knows that there’s a lot more to addiction recovery than just the time patients spend at our treatment centers in Florida — they also need to have a clear path to a brighter future, long after they leave our facilities. That’s why we’re proud to announce an exciting new initiative to elevate our services by incorporating vocational rehabilitation services into the very heart of our addiction treatment approach.

The Importance of Vocational Rehabilitation Services

The research is clear about just how important vocational rehabilitation services — especially job placement assistance — truly are for improving addiction treatment outcomes for people in recovery. Numerous studies over the past 20 years have highlighted the profound benefits of these services, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration has even emphasized how vital it is to start sooner rather than later.

Gainful employment is intrinsically tied to lasting recovery after substance abuse disorder, according to SAMHSA. “Vocational services should be introduced as early as possible in SUD treatment for clients who need and are ready for them, and be an integral component of the entire treatment plan,” according to the administration.

Announcing Our Exclusive Partnership with Pathways2Work

While the importance of vocational rehabilitation services is clear, finding a way to implement it into the approach to addiction treatment fully is more abstract. That’s why WhiteSands Treatment is partnering with Pathways2Work, a renowned nonprofit organization that has helped more than 2,000 people leaving treatment find gainful employment opportunities.

Pathways2Work will exclusively work with WhiteSands Treatment and the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation in the Tampa area at our treatment center in Plant City. It’s an exciting new part of our addiction treatment services — and, remarkably, their services will be provided at no cost to our facility or patients.
