K57 Pill: Uses, Side Effects, and Addiction Treatment

What Is the K57 Pill?

The K57 Pill is a small pill that, when it comes from a reputable pharmacy after being prescribed by a doctor for pain management, contains 20mg of oxycodone hydrochloride. It is also a pill that can be counterfeited and might contain dangerous levels of fentanyl if purchased on the street.

Understanding the Effects of K57

Oxycodone is an opioid drug, and along with pain relief, it can cause feelings of euphoria and relaxation. It impacts the central nervous system, slowing the respiratory system and your pulse, while lowering body temperature, and creates changes in the way the brain processes certain neurotransmitters. Over time, these changes can result in addiction.

Recognizing the Side Effects of K57

Common K57 side effects you might experience when taking the drug, even when used as prescribed, include:

  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Constipation
  • Relaxation
  • Euphoria
  • Risk of addiction

Because the K57 pill effects are pleasant at first, it may be tempting to continue using the medication even after you don’t need to anymore, or to take more than prescribed. This is never recommended, as you can quickly develop a tolerance that can turn into a physical dependence. Always speak to your doctor before changing the way you use your medication.

The Risk of Addiction with K57 Pills

Because Oxycodone in any dose binds to receptors in the central nervous system that trigger endorphins to flood the body, it can make you feel good, while changing the way the brain produces endorphins in the future. The more often you use the drug, the less your body will naturally produce these chemicals, and the worse you will feel when you don’t have Oxy in your system. This is what is known as physical dependence, and can lead to a serious drug addiction.

Identifying Signs of K57 Pill Addiction

Some signs of a pink pill addiction are:

  • Developing a tolerance to the drug
  • Experiencing cravings or constantly thinking about when you can take another pill
  • Spending all your money on K57 pills
  • Continuously cycling between being on the drug, finding the drug, and recovering from drug use
  • Serious issues in your life due to drug use (poor work performance, missing out on important life events, etc.)
  • Continuing to take K57 even when you want to stop due to withdrawal symptoms, and  being unable to quit on your own

K57 Pill Overdose: Symptoms and Emergency Response

If you are with somebody who may be overdosing, call 911 and administer Naloxone immediately.

Signs of overdose include:

  • Unconsciousness or passing out
  • Decreased awareness
  • Low responsiveness
  • Chest pain
  • Cold, clammy skin
  • Small, constricted pupils
  • Coughing up foam or pink froth
  • Shallow, irregular breathing
  • Fast breathing
  • Blue lips, fingernails, or skin
  • Slow or irregular heartbeat

Death and brain damage are avoidable if you take action immediately, by calling for medical help and administering naloxone. Naloxone itself may not be enough and can wear off after a short while, so getting the person into an ambulance or hospital will give them the best chance of making a full recovery.

Treatment Options for K57 Pill Addiction

When you come to WhiteSands for treatment, there are different levels of care to choose from. The first step in treatment is an assessment, which will help our team decide the types of treatment that will best help you recover from K57 pill addiction.

Detox, with medications, 24-hour medical care, and frequent check-ins with an addictionologist will be the first step in your program. For opiate drugs such as the pink pill, you may need to stay in the inpatient detox center for up to two weeks. Once you are ready to move on to your treatment plan, you may move into one of the following programs:

Inpatient rehab

At WhiteSands, you will be our patient between 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, after which time you become our guest, with full access to luxury amenities in our lush surroundings. The days are busy, with therapy, counseling, holistic healing, exercise programs, educational sessions, and group meetings, and this is where you will work on healing, recovery, and relapse prevention. Most inpatient rehab programs are 30 to 90 days in length, giving you lots of time to focus on your health, rest, and recover.

Day/Night Partial Hospitalization Program

The PHP is a transitional treatment phase that is around 10 to 20 days in length. During this phase, you will move into sober community housing, or return home, and then come into one of our outpatient centers for full days of treatment, with sober outings, shopping trips, and more. This short-term program is designed to help you slowly return to your daily routine, with strong support as you take on responsibilities and become accountable for your actions without becoming overwhelmed.

Intensive Outpatient Program

The IOP at Whitesands is a 30- to 90-day program consisting of 3 hours of groups, 3 days or nights per week, with daily check-ins from a life-skills guide. You can continue scheduling doctor and therapy appointments as well as return to your normal work and school schedule. After you’ve completed your time in the IOP, you can continue with the treatment you want in a customized aftercare program. We will always be here for you, no matter how long you’ve been out of treatment.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for K57 Dependency

Medication-assisted treatment is a type of long-term detox program that can help anybody with a pink pill addiction. Because the K57 pill is an opioid drug, stopping use may take more time than it might to quit using a drug like cocaine or meth. The K57 side effects include withdrawal symptoms like:

  • Nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting with abdominal cramps
  • Dilated pupils, with sensitivity to light
  • Shivering with goosebumps
  • Rapid heart beat
  • Restlessness
  • Anxiety
  • Runny nose
  • Insomnia
  • Sweating
  • Yawning
  • Teary eyes
  • High blood pressure

These initial symptoms are extremely unpleasant but will begin to clear up after around 72 hours, with the worst of it over after a week or two. During this time, you may receive pain medications like acetaminophen or ibuprofen, fluids, diarrhea medication, and other over-the-counter treatments to help with the discomfort.

Many people will also start their medication-assisted treatment plan in this period. A MAT program is for anybody who has difficulty starting their inpatient rehab programming due to ongoing drug cravings and withdrawal symptoms, even after two weeks of detox.

During MAT at WhiteSands, patients are provided with FDA-approved prescription medications that will allow them to slowly taper off their opiate usage, with ongoing assessments taking place in weekly doctors’ appointments. This medication is designed to stop drug cravings and many of the worst withdrawal symptoms, allowing the person to begin their rehabilitation program, and start working toward healing the underlying causes of addiction.
