WhiteSands Treatment Tampa, Hyde Park: Who We Are
WhiteSands Treatment is one of Florida’s largest and most established private drug and alcohol rehabilitation networks, with facilities across the state serving patients from Tampa Bay, the Gulf Coast, Central Florida, and across the country. Our Tampa facility, located in the Hyde Park neighborhood of South Tampa, is the flagship inpatient location within the network and serves as the primary residential treatment center for patients in Hillsborough County and the broader Tampa Bay region.
The WhiteSands Tampa Hyde Park facility opened its doors with a commitment to providing evidence-based addiction treatment in an environment that supports recovery on every level: clinical, physical, emotional, and practical. On-site medical staff available around the clock. A clinical team that includes licensed counselors, psychiatrists, medical doctors, and certified addiction specialists. A physical environment designed to promote rest, routine, and the daily structure that early recovery requires.
We treat adults with substance use disorders involving alcohol, opioids, methamphetamine, cocaine, benzodiazepines, prescription medications, and polysubstance use. We also provide integrated dual diagnosis treatment for patients managing depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, or other co-occurring mental health conditions alongside addiction. Every patient who enters our Tampa facility receives a comprehensive clinical assessment and an individualized treatment plan developed by the clinical team within the first 48 hours of admission.
Drug and Alcohol Rehab Programs at Our Tampa Hyde Park Facility
WhiteSands Treatment Tampa provides a complete continuum of care for drug and alcohol addiction, allowing patients to move through levels of care without changing providers or rebuilding clinical relationships.
Medical Detox
24-hour medically supervised detoxification for patients physically dependent on alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, or other substances. Our medical team monitors patients around the clock, manages withdrawal symptoms, and administers medications where clinically indicated to ensure the detox process is safe and as comfortable as the clinical situation allows. Medical detox is the first step for patients who require it before transitioning into the inpatient rehabilitation program.
Inpatient Residential Rehabilitation
30-day, 60-day, and 90-day residential inpatient programs at our Hyde Park facility. Patients live on-site for the duration of their program, participating in a structured daily schedule of individual therapy, group therapy, evidence-based clinical modalities, holistic therapies, and physical recreation. Inpatient rehabilitation at WhiteSands Tampa is appropriate for patients with moderate to severe substance use disorders, those who require medical detox, and those whose home environment presents a significant relapse risk during outpatient treatment.
Outpatient Programs
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) are available at our Gunn Highway outpatient location in Northwest Tampa. Outpatient programming allows patients to maintain work, school, and family responsibilities while receiving structured, clinically supervised addiction treatment. Patients who complete inpatient treatment at Hyde Park can transition directly into outpatient care at Gunn Highway within the same clinical network.
Medication-Assisted Treatment
Suboxone, buprenorphine, Vivitrol, and other FDA-approved medications are available as part of both inpatient and outpatient treatment at WhiteSands Tampa. Medication-assisted treatment is a clinically proven approach to treating opioid use disorder and alcohol use disorder and is integrated with counseling and behavioral therapy throughout the program.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Integrated treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions alongside addiction. Depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorder are treated simultaneously with the addiction by the same clinical team. Telehealth psychiatry is available within the outpatient program. Psychiatric evaluation and medication management are available within inpatient treatment.
Our Tampa Clinical Team
The clinical team at WhiteSands Treatment Tampa includes licensed clinical social workers, licensed mental health counselors, certified addiction counselors, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, medical doctors, and board-certified psychiatrists. Every patient at our Hyde Park facility is assigned a primary counselor who manages their individual therapy, oversees their treatment plan, and coordinates the clinical team’s work across disciplines.
Medical supervision at our Tampa facility is provided around the clock. A physician or nurse practitioner is on-site or on-call at all times during the detox and inpatient phases of treatment. The integration of medical care, psychiatric care, and addiction counseling within a single clinical team is one of the core structural differences between WhiteSands Tampa and facilities that refer patients to outside providers for psychiatric or medical support.
Our Tampa clinical team also includes a Life Skills specialist assigned to every inpatient. The Life Skills program provides individual support for building the practical daily routines, scheduling habits, and self-management skills that give recovery a structural foundation beyond the therapy session.
The WhiteSands Tampa Hyde Park Facility
WhiteSands Treatment Tampa is located at 215 W Verne Street in the Hyde Park neighborhood of South Tampa, Florida 33606. Hyde Park is one of Tampa’s most established and walkable residential neighborhoods, situated along Bayshore Boulevard and adjacent to downtown Tampa, Channelside, and the South Tampa waterfront.
The Hyde Park facility provides the physical environment that supports the clinical program. WhiteSands Tampa serves patients from across the Tampa Bay area, including Hillsborough County, Pinellas County, Pasco County, and the broader Gulf Coast region, as well as out-of-state patients who choose Tampa for treatment because of the clinical quality of the program and the year-round Florida climate.
