NFT Project to Donate Proceeds to WhiteSands Financial Assistance Fund

Financial Assistance for Addiction Treatment

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have come a long way in a relatively short time as celebrities, companies, and the public have embraced this new form of digital art combined with cryptocurrency.

WhiteSands has partnered with the NFT project Bored Mummy Waking Up to help people with substance use disorder get the financial assistance they need to receive quality addiction treatment at one of their many Florida-based centers. The collaboration aims to increase awareness of addiction and improve access to quality treatment amidst a drug overdose crisis, with drug overdose deaths topping 100,000 within 12 months for the first time in U.S. history.

If you or a loved one are struggling with addiction, call WhiteSands Alcohol and Drug Rehab today at 877.969.1993 to learn how we can help.

What Are NFTs?

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) were born out of the growing demand and interest in digital assets. NFTs essentially combine cryptocurrency (blockchain technology) with digital assets, which are unique and non-interchangeable. In the case of the Bored Mummy Waking Up NFTs, the digit asset is art-based, which is then run on the popular Ethereum blockchain, also known as ETH.

NFTs can be traded, treasured, or sold just like other forms of art, and by owning a particular NFT, you own a unique version of the digital file stored on the Ethereum blockchain.

Bringing Hope to Those That Need It Most

A portion of the proceeds from Bored Mummy Waking Up’s newest NFT release will fund quality addiction treatment for those who cannot afford the services they so desperately need to overcome their addiction.

WhiteSands has already established itself as the best alcohol and drug rehab center in Florida by earning Newsweek’s ranking as the #1 addiction treatment facility in Florida for two consecutive years. WhiteSands’ holistic approach to treatment combines effective behavioral therapies with a whole-patient, personalized approach which is a big part of what sets them apart as the best treatment center for substance use disorder.

The partnership with the Bored Mummy Waking Up NFT project is a positive step toward helping people with addiction amid a drug overdose crisis. Through their three inpatient facilities and 18 outpatient treatment centers, they can help as many as 300 people a month to overcome the hardships that addiction causes.

WhiteSands Alcohol and Drug Rehab has one of the best healthcare teams dedicated to helping people with substance use disorder. They embrace each person as if they were a part of their recovery family, giving them to support and compassionate understanding they need to build themselves up again and win out over their addiction.

Treating the Cause of Addiction

Many people cannot stop abusing drugs or alcohol by themselves because the underlying cause of the addiction often lies in untreated trauma or other mental health disorders. WhiteSands Alcohol and Drug Rehab specializes in treating these common causes of addiction in a treatment known as dual diagnosis.

A person trying to stop addiction alone faces many obstacles if they feel forced to use drugs or alcohol to cope with the untreated mental health disorder symptoms. While it provides short-term relief, the mental health disorder persists and continues to disrupt a person’s life and at the same time, the substance abuse leads to its own set of problems, thus multiplying problems.

The key to overcoming this issue is through dual diagnosis or co-occurring mental health disorder treatment. At WhiteSands Alcohol and Drug Rehab, both untreated mental health disorders such as trauma are treated simultaneously as the addiction. By providing simultaneous treatment, sustainable recovery can be achieved and relapse prevented.

The partnership with Bored Mummy Waking Up will increase awareness of mental health disorder treatment, remove stigma, and bring light to the challenges that people with addiction face. If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction and potential mental health disorders, reach out to WhiteSands – or if you would like to support this project.
